New .277 Wolverine AR build

This is my third AR build, so I wanted to do something different. Boyd’s laminate AR furniture, Giesselle ssa-e trigger, and mad dog weapons systems .277 Wolverine mid-length 20 inch 1:11 twist barrel. I like the old fashioned A2 sights, so the rest was built from spare parts I had laying around.


This is my first Wildcat caliber. I made a few hundred pieces of brass from once fired .223 and loaded up some test rounds with 110 grain Sierra ProHunters and 120 grain Hornady SSTs. Now I just need to find some time to get out to the range and see how she shoots. I’m hoping for around 2550 FPS with the 120s using Shooters World Blackout powder. I plan to use this rifle for deer this fall.

That rifle is a beauty. If nothing else you get my vote for prettiest AR of the week. The fact that it’s in the .277 bore family gives it bonus points.
