I just got my new 329PD yesterday, I like it!!! I have some questions: I have included some pics; the one with the wood grips is a pic from the S&W site mine are the ones with the rubber grips (decelerators)... my question is: on the right side of the frame bottom right mine only says "SPLFD, MA S&W U.S.A." on the one from the S&W site it spell all "made in U.S.A marcas registradas smith & wesson springfield, Mass" mine says it was tested on 7/28/2010, is this a new design? also you can see the blast shield on mine is almost the double in size as of the one on the S&W site.... any reason for this? please advice thanks.

What model number is stamped on the frame inside the crane? S&W could have made enough changes to warrant incrementing the "dash" number.

Mine too...

I was in the shop last month and saw a neat snubbie in the case. It has "Alaska Backpacker IV" engraved on the right side plate. It has a 2.5" barrel and a pinned Patridge front with a Call gold bead and the rear sight is standard S&W adjustable except is has a "V" notch, ala
"safari" style... The cylinder on mine is bright polished stainless rather than titanium. It is Scandium but doesn't have the atomic symbol on it. It had S&W/Hogue rubber mono grips and inside the frame it is stamped 329PD. I would have thought Smith was getting into the dashes on the 329 but apparently not so. I went to the Smith website and can't find this revolver there at all. I was interested in seeing what Smith says about the weight for this, since the 4" 329PD is shown to be about 25 ounces.

Has any one installed the Crimson Trace Hoghunter Laser Grip on their 329PD? how it works? does it cover the back strap of the handle/grip? does it help with the recoil as the patchmyer decelerator does?
