My first pistol was a S&W 9mm. I never thought I'd turn out to be a revolver man, but after tracking down a beat-up Security Six, I learned that I really like wheelguns.
So at the gun show this weekend, there was a blued S&W 442 sitting sad and lonely on a dealer's table. The bluing showed lots of wear from carry, but the gun locked up tight. Looked like it'd been carried a lot, shot only a little. And the price? $225
I had my wallet out so fast I think I sprained my shoulder. Unfortunately, the dealer saw how excited I was and completely refused to haggle. I couldn't do much, because I was pretty sure if I walked away from the table the snubbie would be gone before I got back. I came home grinning and my fiancee rolled her eyes.
This little guy drops right into my pocket. It points naturally. Staging the trigger is easy. The weight is unnoticeable and the outline is a lot less obvious than the Kahr PM9 I had for about 12 weeks... So now I've joined the ranks of those who carry Airweights for CCW and I couldn't be happier.
Thanks, gentlemen and ladies, for all the great advice generiously offered on this board.
