Well, like most firearms I buy, this one is no different......an impulse buy, but a darn good one (IMHO).

I bought a FNH FNP45 USG with the shooters pack from CDNN for $587.97 delivered to my FFL, and he'll charge me another $15, so $602.97 total.

Anyway, I have never shot one, just handled a lot of them. Anybody have any experience with the USG? Did I get a deal, or am I just thinking I did?

Here is a picture (not mine) of what I will pick-up on Wednesday.
Range report and pics to follow.

If you wind up liking it, you got a good deal.

Is that a fake barrel for dry-fire type practice?

Don't seem like a bad deal. It even come with a dummy barrel. I've never seem any other gun come with that before.

It's for LEO and military training, so they don't have to use all plastic guns - I've seen a lot of blue plastic Glocks for training..........not sure what the thought process is, but..........

I just like the idea of a poly gun that can be "cocked and locked" with 16 rds of .45 ACP.
Plus I'm getting where I want hammers and safeties on all of my firearms, with the exception of a couple of mouse guns.

Did you know that FNH's customer service is just southeast of you in Arnold?

Yes, and that is another big reason for the purchase. I spoke to a FNH sales rep. about 3 years ago and he said you could bring a FNP down to the Arnold location and get the rails replaced pretty much at will, although I think he said they are rated to last 20,000 - 30,000 rds.
I think all I need are some Trijicon sights and it will be ready to be my nightstand gun 100% of the time.

I love my Tactical, which is basically just a tweaked USG. It shoots soft and it's a natural pointer for me. That's not a bad price at all, especially with the Shooter's Pack.
