Well, I finally did it....Bought my first 870. I'm left handed and gave up looking for a left handed 870 so decided on a regular right hand version. It's an Express version, but an early one. It has the non-MIM, forged extractor and is pretty darn smooth. 28" barrel with rib and rem choke. With the matte finish and given that it's used, it's a gun that I won't hesitate to use in wet or harsh conditions. The best part is I got it for $160 plus tax.

The same shop also had a nice Wingmaster that I could have gotten for $190 but it had a 30" fixed full choke barrel (with rib). I may still get it and use it as a bargin trap gun but I was looking for something a little more versitale.

Love those 870s.

Thanks,

Thats a nice gun. That Wingmaster is not a bad price either. I just bought the same Wingmaster a couple months back and gave 250.00 for it, used but well taken care of, its becoming my trap gun.

Go back and get the Wingmaster. You should be able to get your money's worth or more out of it should you ever decide to sell it.

A third for getting the Wingmaster. You can sell the barrel and use the money to buy whatever sort of barrel you do want direct from Remington.

Well guys, you convinced me. I went ahead and bought the wingmaster also. That gives me two nice 870's for about $360 total. I'm looking forward to giving these guns a workout at the clay range. I figure I might own a nice autoloader or even o/u one day, but for now, I'm quite content with these the beauties.
