All,
I just acquired a CZ 452 Lux for $239 .... I have never seen a LUX for less then $285 so I jumped all over it. This is my first bolt action rimfire so bear with me. The gun is a joy to shoulder and point. The mauser sights are great and the adjustable rear sight is very user friendly. Trigger is splendid.

I will post a range report soon....I have a little friendly comp this sat, 25 yd indoor range with some tiny silouhette targets that simulate 100yd. Me with the new CZ and my buddy with an EAA Biathalon. I expect to get smoked, but I promise to make it close.

Question, has anyone else had a problem mounting a scope on their 452? My bushnell 3x9 is sitting right on the rear tangent sight, I am hoping that will not effect it in any way. Any opinions?

The rear sight on all the 452's w/ Irons is huge and right in the way of being able to mount a scope with a large bell. Brookie at CZ452.com has a solution for that. He also has many tips, tricks and other products just for these fantastic shooting little rifles.

Congrats! I have a 452 also, one of my favorite rifles. It's certainly a joy to shoot (and cheap!), and a really easy way to start out new shooters. :)

My buddy Beetle Bailey just purchased one. Wow, was I impressed with the craftsmanship of that thing. Certainly not a toy, like some .22's are made to be. Just a scaled down Rifle.

He hasn't shot it yet, but I'd be floored if he's not shooting one ragged hole with it. Maybe I'll buy one, too....

:D

Heh heh. . .Yup, I just got a CZ 452 Lux in .22lr as well. I was gonna make my own post to review it, but since ya bet me to it, I guess I'll just post my impressions here. Hope you don't mind ;) . Haven't shot it yet, but something tells me that by the end of this weekend, that will change :) .

This is my first commercial rifle so I really didn't know what to expect. I bought it mainly as a practice rifle, so I could cheaply and easily get more experience shooting from field positions, since about 90% of the shooting I've done so far is from a bench. But I also wanted something nice, since I'd hopefully be doing a ton of shooting with it :D . The CZ452 got rave reviews and so I checked out a few at the last gunshow - they looked fine but were in the wrong caliber so I had my local gunshop order me one.
(My previous experience with CZ is a CZ75 compact with a Kadet Kit, BTW).

I picked up the rifle yesterday and it's a very nice rifle - no obvious issues. The comb of the stock has a nice contour for a comfortable cheekweld and a grove for the palm of your thumb (sorry lefties). It has a five-round detachable magazine, but I think you can top-load the rifle with the magazine in place. IINM a ten-round mag and a single-shot loader are available but I think I'll just get one extra five-rounder as a "just in case" mag.

I can tell I'm really gonna like these sights - the rear sight is windage adjustable with two small screwdrivers and the elevation is 25, 50, 75, etc. to 200 meters. The front sight is a post on a dovetail slope so you can have complete control of the height - if only all milsurp mausers had this  . Yep, this is supposed to be a mauser action and even in rimfire form I can see the mauser DNA - it even has controlled round feeding. But, the bolt on my Swedish Mauser is smoother although I am hoping the CZ smooths out with some use.

The fit and finish is very good also, with only a few hidden places that could use some cleaning up. Mostly, the machining is good and the walnut stock sports some nice grains. BTW, I'm gonna need to find some Wolf .22lr ammo if I'm really gonna try to find out the potential of this mini-Mauser :D .

but I think you can top-load the rifle with the magazine in place.

I don't think that is a good idea, but there is a single shot adapter for it.

Yes the bolt will smooth some with use, I helped it along with some Flitz and a Dremel+polishing bit.
