I used to own a Ruger GP100 with a 5" barrel and could hit a nickel from 30 yards. 12 years ago I purchased a P89 9mm and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. My P89 also Jammed about every 10 rounds. I bought this P89 just before the Pre-ban went into effect. I no longer have either guns, but I have been looking into getting another 9mm, mostly because of the low cost ammo. I have been looking at the Springfield XD, and S&W M&P or Sigma series. I have shot Glock 19, and 23's within the last few years and do not like the grip positions, so these are not an option ( The slide has cut my upper thumb knuckle too many times.) I am looking at spending about 500$ at a maximum. Any suggestions????????
Regardless of the use of the pistol, I am looking for positive or negative feedback with the general use of the pistols above.

If you want an accurate, reliable semi automatic 9mm on a budget, I don't think you could go wrong with a CZ75. If I could do it over again, I would have purchased it over my XD9, which is a nice 9mm and all, but the accuracy is only good, not great. As it is, a CZ75 would be nice but it is pretty low down on my "guns to get" list. One day though  .

i love the sigma but if you dont like the glocks you wont like the sigma the grips are pretty close. the guns are almost identical thats why smith and wesson got sued by glock. my .02 cents

I've shot the Springfield XD in all 2 offerings. I like the ,45 the best followed by the .40 S&W and the 9mm last. (I just DO NOT like the 9mm) The XD is a great pistol and I ilke the of getting all the goodies that come standard with the pistol and all for under $500. Nothing wrong with getting a holster, mag case and 2 mags with your pistol...
