I just got in a set of the new Ahrends Retro Target grips. They are awsome. Fit and finish is typical Ahrends flawless. I origonaly had a set of there finger groove grips on this gun, but they didn't fit my wifes hand. These are a great comprimise...very thin, but with just the right proportions. Picture Jordan grips having a baby with Jerry Mikulec grips...perfection.

Sorry for the crappy snapshot, I'm heading out the door to work, I'll try to post a better picture later. The seam look pretty obvious in one of the pix, but its just a flash artifact. you can barely see the seam IRL.

Polish - no! S&W's brushed satin stainless finish is fine the way it is.

Polished mirror bright guns are for the movies.

On the other hand if you got it polished up shiny enough, added some gold trim, pearl grips, cruised around with a purple cape, a big hat with a feather and a hooker on each arm a polished shiny pistol would fit right in. ;)

Seriously - FWIW - the factory stainless finish is one of the best looking stainless finishes around.

I agree. But what you cant see in the picture is that it has gotten 'polished' by use and wear over the years..and donst look matte brushed anymore. The bruch marks have become so faint, it looks more like polished with a bunch of scratches. It will cost me about $200 to have it re brushed at S&W, or about $60 to have a local gunsmith polish it. Besides I don't have any shiney guns.

Carbon 15, why pay a smith? A tube of flitz, a couple of microfiber cloths and some hours in front of the tv polishing and you have a nice faux nickel finish!
