Not an AK shooter. Don't have one.

But I would get this sight system if I had an AK.
I'd also get same for my 10/22, Marlin 60, and SKS. (currently the 10/22 and 60 have tech-sights, but I would love the adjustable elevation)

Two important questions for you.

Will it work with non-standard AK stocks? (Specifically a VLTOR adapter tube with the little dust cover plate.)

How much money?

InkEd,
Yes our current AK100 and AK200 sights will fit all the stock variations as it mounts to the tee slot in the rear receiver trunion.

Our Current AK100 and AK200 models

This A2 style that we are considering would mount the same way so would also be compatible with all the stocks that I am aware of. All the models would fit the VLTOR adapter. On the price it is too early to lock it down but it will be a little more than our current AK100 & AK200 ($110.00 & $125.00) I would expect the price to be right around $150.00.

I appreciate the feed back guys. It does seem like have a yardage adjustment would be an advantage especially on the 7.62 x 39 round. Then again it just depends on the type of shooting that you do. Henchman I gather by your AQT reference that you have been through the Appleseed course? My wife and I have both attended two and made our rifleman on the second one. Pretty challenging and a great experience.

Yeah, I'm an Appleseed Shoot Boss and State Coordinator, so I get a lot of free targets. ;) I got my patch at my first Appleseed up in New Hampshire back in July 2007 when I was up there for a Free State Project get-together. It was run by a guy named Nickle Farnsworth. He had a few 10/22s fitted with your sights back when they were a new thing, and he told us all about your company and how the owner is a big supporter of Appleseed's mission. He said that you gave him those sights to use on his training rifles, on the condition that he would tell everybody who shot them about your company and where to buy them. Well that was good business on your part, because I ended up buying some for myself and telling a lot of others about them too. And I'm sure you're aware that nowadays, at least half the rifles on any given Appleseed firing line wear your sights.

The other guy in this thread said that you're in it for the money... well I would certainly hope so, and I hope you are making lots of it! :) You really do have a great product, and its nice to see that you're always trying to make it better. If you guys went public, I would buy a few shares.

It is always refreshing to see a man making his living by providing a benefit to his fellow man through voluntary trade, rather than any of the "other" ways that people are unfortunately able to make a living in an economy like ours. I'm glad I have the opportunity to tell you that I admire you and your company greatly.

Its fine if a few people here and there think your product is a gimmick... as I'm sure you know, there are plenty of Riflemen out there who know better! ;)

I shoot both (AR and AK/SKS). Centering the front sight post in the rear sight notch is neither slow nor difficult to shoot quickly and accurately. If you feel you need to spend money for a gadget - have at it.

Nonsense...total nonsense. Why don't you look at the type sights that competitors use? Better yet, open your mind and see what an organization like the Army Marksmanship Unit uses? If the 200 year old tangent type sight were best, that's what they'd use.

If you honestly think it's quicker to line up three things (rear sight, front sight and target) than two (front sight and target) you have some serious reasoning issues.

I put a set of 200 Series Tech Sights on one of my Yugo SKS's (because years ago I realized the advantages of peep sights) and love them.

I think that one of the main reasons that I don't own an AK yet is because I am not a fan of the sights.

I love the Tech Sights I have on my Marlin 795, and the aperture style sights on AR's, Garands, M1A's, 1903's, etc.

Can't promise I would buy your product anytime soon, but I'm guessing it would just be a matter of time.
