so I'm building two new ARs (in anticipation of a ban) but I'm not sure how I want to finish them.

so far, I'm using the following:
essential arms lowers
bravo co's USGI uppers
vltor receiver extension
magpul CTR
magpul MIAD (foliage green) and MOE (FDE)
white oak LPK
bravo co BCG
bravo co CH
bravo co D&H mags (some painted green, others taped that i'm going to paint FDE tomorrow)
magpul pmags (FG shown on lower right, I haven't ordered the FDE ones yet)
Compass lake 2-stage NM style trigger in the brown gun

I'm leaning towardsl sending the green lower up to JP to get one of their single stages put in it, and making it an IPSC 'open' gun, with an 18" barrel and dreadnaught comp and vtac handguard.

but I really haven't decided what barrel or forearm to put on either. or what optics, muzzle device, etc.

suggestions?

btw, I'm VERY impressed with how close the duracoat colors match the actual magpul pieces-parts. the lighting is a bit wacky in the pic and makes the brown look very different, but it looks every bit as close as the green in person.

Well, you could go with the desert tactical thing, basically make a tan M4, with all the tacticool do-dads. Or really fun, SBR it and put some 10" handguards on it, then suppress, so most of the suppressor is under the handguards? Since one would be a match (accurate, kinda pointless to do a SPR if you allready have one...) gun.....i can't think of many other styles that the paint and stocks haven't ruled out.

What other ARs do you have, and would you want to make one similar to th others you have?

actually, SBR was on my mind... but i think i'll do that at a later date.

i was thinking 'cheap, but quality' that would make a good loaner for n00bs i take to the range to have fun plinking with. something practical, but interesting. probably 16"
