Thank You, USSR!

So my choices are mostly OK. That's fine. If someone has a coment on that stock of choice I'll be gratefull too. Heard it needs some work to seat the action properly but are not expensive and of good quality.

As for the action choice - I'm confused. I'm not an US resident and availability of used actions are very limited. So new barreled action maker that ships to Europe or has european distributor is the only way. I must know it before deciding on Badger base type. Thing is I'm not keen on remington type safety lever. So perhaps Ed Brown - but the cost is higher.

I am not familiar with all the custom actions, and I also don't know what you can get easily outside the US. Normally my advice would be to look real close at what you are building if its cost will be the same or more than a Remington PSS. In Europe, it may be easier/cheaper to get a new or used SAKO action; they are high quality.

Thank You, guys! Indeed Sako (or tikka perhaps?) action is a solution, although I do not think Bagder Ordnance makes my favorite picatinny rail base for it.

The other thing that's on my mind is the FN SPR rifle that USSR mentioned on the other thread-it might be available here too (although the prices over here and over there differ sometimes very much). Is it really $1400? Does the picatinny rail come standard with the rifle? Anyone used it? Worth thinking of?

The base rifle starts at about $1400 U.S. dollars, with higher grade models at about $2000. A 20MOA picatinny rail comes with the rifle, although I don't know if they are a Badger rail. I think highly of this rifle.

Do You think of Sako TRG action Zak? Or some other Sako models? TRG's are high dollar rifles here (even more that in the US I think becouse of the exchange rate).

Do You own the FN SPR, USSR? The group in the pic - what was the range - 100 yds? Have You measured it? What kind of manual safety does the SPR have (similar to AW or a la Remington)?

I wrote about the TRG-42 in the other thread you posted to. I have shot the TRG-42 a lot, but haven't handled the short-action TRG-22 (it is substantially similar).

Katigroszek,

Yes, I bought an FN SPR about 5 years ago when they first came out. Here is an article I wrote about that rifle:

The group was fired at 100 yards, and measures about 3/8". The FN SPR uses the Winchester M70 action, so it has a 3-way safety (safe with locked bolt, safe with free bolt, and fire). IMHO, it is a fine choice for someone wanting something out of the box with more features than a standard Remington or Savage, yet not as costly as a AW or custom built rifle.
