Hey All, I do cowboy action shooting and started with 7 1/2" barrel Single actions. Since then I have bought 5 1/2" Vaqueros. Sold 1 of my 7 1/2" guns to get the shorter ones. Since its nice to always have a back-up in case something happens...... How much would it be to have a 5 1/2" replacement barrel on my 7 1/2"?
Its a Ruger New Vaquero in 45LC.
Or would it just be cheaper easier to find someone who may want to swap? Most people I talk to seem to want 38s not 45s.
If its feaseable, does anyone know a gunsmith in southern maine area?
Thanks for your time, Bob

I'll do that, thanks. I've met him at some shoots around here. I did contact ruger and the price is not gonna work. Would rather trade in towards a new 45.
I hear ya on the 38s, but like the 45s better. Got the wife a nice set of there 38s tho.

"...did contact Ruger..." They tell you that barrels are factory fitted only and that they don't sell 'em separately to anybody? One option is to have the barrel cut and re-crowned.
"...Cowboy Gun Works..." He do anything but trigger work? No mention of anythin gelse on his site. Just curious.
