Hiya Guys :) ,

A friend just twisted my arm and made me a trade offer that I couldn't refuse, so I just picked up the $700 Beretta 96 that he recently bought. This Ferrari of a beast is basically an upgraded 92fs in the 10mm .40 S&W, which I prefer over the 9mm anyway. This is a pretty nice replacement for the CZ75 I recently let go ;) ...

On a side note the only thing I do not like about it are the stupid heinie sights. I guess I'm just a 3 dot kind of a guy.

A couple of "nits" on the posted info.
-I believe the "A1" designation for Beretta will indicate the frame would have an accessory rail. The posted pics show a non-railed frame.
-10mm and .40 (S&W) are two different calibers, although it may not be generally known the bullets/projectiles are the same/same diameter. A Beretta 96 is a .40.

Thanks and you are correct, this is not an A1 model regardless of what some of the paperwork says. As far as the 40 s&w goes, it is a 10mm rd, just as the 380acp is a 9mm ie, 9mm kurtz or 9mm Browning short. The only difference between them is the case length is slightly shorter in both cases.

I had a 96A1, very accurate and reliable. Unfortunately I have short fingers and the grip was too large for me. If my hands were a bit bigger I wouldn't have let it go, they are a beautiful and functional pistol.

The violent wear and tear of the .40 on an aluminum frame has always steered me away from them.

However, if I am honest with myself, I'll probably never shoot enough to wear one out if I change the recoil springs every 3000 rounds.

The 92 series is my favorite pistol platform, and I'm short a .40
Hmmmm
