I've just seen advanced material for Tony (Anthony) Williams new book, "Assault Rifles," and it looks like the best book on the subject to date. I work for the U.S. distributor of the book and we should have the book in our warehouses by mid-January. I can't wait to read it.

As an aside, our marketing people ran their promotional copy past me last September, and it was the most offensive anti-gun crapola I'd ever seen. Our marketing head came to us from public radio. Need I say more. She didn't even realize how incorrect or offensive the copy was; whoever wrote the copy apparently believed all the misinformation that was being spread in the media around that time. Fortunately I was able to fix it before it went to press.

Hopefully she is not the sharpest hoe in the shed. Who does she think is going to buy that book? Did she take any marketing classes in school? That is like trying to sell SUV's and throwing some greenpeace speel in your ad. Hate to be a prick ( no I don't just being pc  ) but she deserves to get canned.

We tend to forget just how ignorant non-enthusiasts are about guns and gun laws. I work next to a guy, an avid hunter who just returned from hunting elk in Colorado, and he supports the assault weapons ban. Voted for Kerry.

Thanks Tony. I would have mentioned Popenker but I couldn't remember how to spell his name and didn't want to butcher it. I have the prepress info at my office and I do all my surfing at home.

I can't wait to get a copy of your book. Right now I am reading Osprey's "Out of Nowhere: A History of the Military Sniper," by Martin Pegler. It's an excellent book. I highly recommend it. If your book sells as well as "Nowhere," you and Max are going to make a few bucks. I wish you great success.
