New bottle of powder?

I think that the .6 of a gr from max can be misleading, in some cartridges that's almost the difference of start to max, in others (like my stw) I could spill .6 and if I'm in the middle of a good node when I start, I'll never notice!
If .6 is a LONG way from max, I'd check a couple rounds and see how they do, if .6 is still basically at max, then I'd reduce a bit and rework.

I may be wrong for saying what I do with one powder in particular, but I've not had any trouble.I use a lot of Varget, and sometimes it's hard to find an 8 pound jug.I buy it by the pound and put it in the 8 pound jug that I keep it it,and it usually has 4 pounds or so in it.I dump the new pound in,mix it up and move along.I know I'm playing with the law of averages, but the 8 or 10 rifles I use it in don't mind, and the velocity numbers stay the same.
