so I went to the range today for one last practice session before before going hunting. I was shooting my broadheads to make sure they shot the same as my field points. Behind the cardboard that I was shooting at was sand. After a few times of shooting the arrows into the sand, I noticed nicks in the edges of my broadheads, and they were noticeably duller.

will I be able to sharpen them to their original sharpness, or should I just buy new ones. If I can sharpen them, how hard is it to do? Is it something you can just pick up and do, or is there an art to it? Thanks

Resharpen

It should be possible to resharpen them.

Here's a guide with pictures.

Here's another one.

Here's a couple of videos on the subject.

And yet another one.

It seems there's no shortage of material out there on the topic.

My own personal inclination? I'd resharpen. And if I couldn't manage to get a good edge on it after giving it my best, I'd go shopping.

But only after giving it the old college try.

+1 on Deltaboy.

I bought the kind that have replaceable blades. The manufacturer's intent is that they are disposable. I have found they are easier to resharpen because I can snap them into my Lansky easily. Plus, if one of the blades gets bent or too nicked to take an edge I can throw it away and keep the other two.

I shoot Muzzy broadheads exclusively, one reason being that a "practice" insert is furnished with each pack of broadheads.
In times past, I sharpened Bear Razorheads and Hilbre's first with a file followed by a whet stone.
