Browning has two new pistols listed on thier web site. The Pro-9 and Pro-40. Has anyone seen or handled one of these?

Blech!
:scrutiny:

yup.

There isn't a 40 yet, but it should be done by the end of the year. The Pro-9 is a DA-SA with an 1911 type safety (cocked and locked is A-OK)

They should be available sometime around the middle of June or early July, depending on the usual engineering problems that pop up.

What type of mag capacity does it have? Can it use Hi power mags? I tried looking at their website but it isn't working for me. TIA.

Looks exactly like a Fabrique Nationale FNP-9.

Now that I think about it, it's also probably what a CZ p-01 would look like if they made it in polymer.

It is an FNP-9 with a stainless slide and a safety.

Unlike the Forty-Nine, it has a hammer.

Hammers are much better than strikers.

You guys nailed it...its an FN FNP-9. Quite a bit different than the Forty Nine....which IMO has pretty decent trigger pull......
I wonder if FN would trade my FN HP DA c for a NIB 2 tone FNP-9
Strictly for R&D evaluations of course....:D
Shoot well

Oh well. If it was capable of c&l carry I would have been interested (and if it took hi-power mags). Now it will be just another crunch ticker in a world of crunch tickers.

I loved the FN 49 until I pulled the trigger. It was horrid.

No Thanks, i'll stick with my P-01.

browning Pro9

The browning Pro 9 is the civilian version of the Fnp9. It has 16 round magazine capacity. I've had mine for a month now. So far i've put 2000 rounds through it with no malfunctions at all. Rey
