I stumbled across 4 Brand spaking new Bushmaster M17 Bullpup rifles. These are not NIB rifles that were sold years ago and tucked away. They were shipped from Bushmaster a few weeks ago. The dealer told me they were "forgotten inventory" at Bushmaster. They want $699.95 each. They are in the new style bushmaster case/box.

Im not to fond of the rifle, but it seems like a good deal. What do you think?

I'd say that's a decent price. I'd like to hear more about the M17...all I've heard is some reliability problems and the sights not very good.

They are about the cheapest bullpup option out there for .223, though.

I've heard the sights arn't good, but I have never heard of reliability problems.

Also it heats up really quickly.

I resisted the force when the M-17 first came on the scene. I'm not a bullpup kind of guy I guess after a run with a Valmet and AUG in the 80's. Recently I got the opportunity to shoot an M-17 at a regional shoot and have to say that I was impressed with it to the point of wanting one...

Poor little M17s. :) I'd be tempted to buy one just because they're discontinued and therefore may become collectible. ESPECIALLY if some gun bans come down the pike - eveeeeel bullpups will be one of the first evil features to be banned. It might take 10 years, but if you've got room in the safe, you could probably double your money in 10 years. And have fun shooting it.

About the only issues Ive heard of (other than "reliability" issues that plaugue EVERY gun that someone doesnt like) was that they heat up QUICKLY! You can burn your hand after a few mags, so be careful. That being said: GO FOR IT! Its hard to find those anymore and they are great guns :D.

Were are they at? They might find a home in my gear locker/Bullpup colection. I was looking at used ones on Gunbroker last week.

I had an M17 for a while, and when I decided to get rid of it, it took forever to sell. I would jump on this deal if you really want an M17, but I would expect to be able to easily get your money back out if you decide you don't like it.
