A used hk usp40c from gander mountain about 2 weeks ago with their store closing discount (really the only deal in the whole store), and a new s&w m&p shield 9mm ordered from brownells that I received this afternoon. Went straight to the range and put 100 rds through each right after picking up the shield, no feeding issues. I have to sadly admit...the shield has a better trigger than the HK but I like the HK controls better.

I still paid less for the HK than what they sell for on armslist or gunbroker or other online sites I've kept an eye on. This new shield is way nicer than it has a right to be for ~245usd all said and done.

Those Shield 9mm guns are going for some pretty good prices these days... I have too many carry guns in the same size/capacity class now, and won't be buying one, but I liked the feel of the one my friend just got, also for around $250 locally.

Congrats on your new HK, they make great guns. Keep us posted on your first range trip with it.

I think I've already put 300 rds through the HK. Only 100rds through 2 new P2000 mags I got for it, love the base plate on those. It's been reliable so far, except something went wierd once with feeding while my inexperienced 14yro daughter was firing it her first time (why she's inexperienced is a different discussion).

At the range at I think 25ft (wasn't marked but I was going almost to the back of the indoor range, oineline they claim the range is 50ft...) I was shooting 2 mags (24rds) at ~5" groups 2 hand open stance. The shield with 2 mags (15rds) I was shooting 4" groups. Stooping down and fully supporting both arms on the shelf I was able to bullseye targets with both pistols.

Shooting winchester 9mm and maxxtech 40s&w
