I am in the market for a new CCW. I carry a Glock 21 as a duty weapon with a Kel Tec P-11 as a BUG.I carry the G21 as a CCW in a G&G 733 holster. I have a Blackhawk Serpa that I wear to court and to the range but it conseals like crap. With the warmer weather coming on down here I was looking for a new CCW. My price limit is around $700 and I don't want anything under a 9mm. I am looking hard at the Glock 19 and 23, but I hate the .40 because I can't seem to hit with it. Any suggestions?

You answered your own question, get the 19! But I'm partial, cause thats what I carry:D

With your price peak you shouldn't have any problems.

For the type of money your talking about I'd personally go with a Sig or HK. General concensouis is there offerings in .40cal tame the round where the G23 couldn't.

I'm with Gordy though, I'll be trading my G23 for the G30 latter this year. For now on it'll be either 9mm or 45 with no deviation due to the media.

The singlemost important thing you said was that you can't hit with the .40. Perhaps this is due to lack of training, closed-mindedness, blah, blah, blah. Doesn't matter. If you can't hit with something it is worthless. It doesn't matter what all the editors of the gun magazines or your buddy the gun expert tell you, you have to use what works for YOU.

I carried a Glock for years, and went back to a 1911. My best friend was looking to get his first carry gun, and I did everything I could to steer him my way, but he got the Glock anyway. He asked me if that made me mad, I told him it would really suck if he actually had to use it and got himself killed because he was using the gun his friends pushed him into, rather than the one that really fit him best.

I think it would be really hard to beat a G-19 with ANYTHING.

Since you carry a Glock on duty..then a Glock is what you should go with.
The G30 is fat, but very nice to shoot. A G36 is slimmer but often a handful for some. Then there is a GAP clan that some might want to join.

CZs are nice, but an aquired taste. After you have shot everything else out there..then you will probably get a CZ.

Can't beat a CZ or Glock in my opinion.

I carry a 19 off duty but, will be buying a G30 someday down the road. I have no problems carrying 9mm for defense its all where you put the bullets anyway. For you any of those mentioned would work but as the 30 takes 21 mags go for that one get night sights and you're well under your proce range buy ammo with the rest.

Can't forget the G36...if you don't mind 6+1 capacity it was the most accurate 45 I ever shot.
