I picked up some new, to me, bore cleaner at Wal-mart the other day. It is Remington 40-X Bore Cleaner. I used it on 2 rifles that had been cleaned, one with Hoppe's #9 and one with Butches Bore Shine. When I used the Rem cleaner a lot more crud came out of the bores. I also used it to clean the face of my revolver cylinders and it cleaned them as good or better than Lead Away clothes.
It says on the bottle to use the cleaner with Rem Oil and I did so I don't know how well it works alone. I did not use on any blued surfaces so I don't know how it will affect bluing.
Just thought I'd past on my experience.
