ive noticed colt is selling new SAAs.. are these still the colt cowboys or are they actually re-releasing the real SAA?... if so, are their parts actually made in the US or are they importing parts?

No Cowboy models, those are discontinued and gone. New guns are 3rd generation real SAA's and they've just started making New Frontiers again (SAA with adjustable sights).

100% USA made.

I don't believe Colt ever stopped making new SAA's anytime in recent memory. The new guns are the best ever through 3rd generation production, easily better guns than anything made in the last 30yrs. Colt has made great strides to improve their product, no doubt due to pressure from USFA. So IMHO, anyone would be a fool to buy a 3rd generation SAA at full price and not get a new one. As good as they are, however, I still think USFA builds a better SAA for less money.

While I agree with Craig's choice of Scotch & we both view redheads with caution, I still have to disagree that the USFA's are better. :)
May be prettier & offer more variations, but I think the USFAs are, at best, close to equal.

But & anyway, Colt has been steadily producing the Peacemaker for a long time now & the current ones are nice.
