First off, sorry if the title makes absolutely no sense. It just sounded cool in my head. Secondly, this topic is much different than my last about the snake guns. I now have a better idea of why some people are so against them for reasons entirely unrelated to the physical firearms themselves. While I believe every one of the new snakes (especially the Python) warrants the classic name, I can understand why others would feel differently...regardless of whether I agree with them or not.

With all that out of the way, this topic is entirely about sells and availability at your local FFL.

I only go to one specific shop routinely. It seems like every other day they'll get a couple of snake guns in, put them in the case, and then they're almost instantly gone. It's not an exaggeration. I walked in on a King Cobra a couple of weeks ago and got super excited to look at it. Suddenly the guy pulled it out of the case and I realized the person in front of me had just filled out the paperwork and bought it. My heart was crushed. Then a few days ago I saw a King Cobra Carry in the case. I didn't have time to look at it as I was on lunch and just stopping in to pay on a layaway. Next day...gone.

A bit over a month ago when I got my Cobra, they had also received a Python and a Night Cobra that same morning. I only knew about the Python because I asked if they had gotten any in yet. The guy told me it was out the door for $2000 within an hour of putting it in the case. Obviously the standard Cobra also sold that day cause I bought it. That left the Night Cobra. All I know is that it was also gone when I went back then next evening.

Now I've personally asked if they get snake guns in often or not and was told that their distributor sends what he has but they're almost always gone the day they hit the case.

Obviously we're going through a crazy time in the world but these are rather expensive "antiquated" revolvers. It seems like Colt has really kept themselves busy with these guns. It just makes me wonder about everywhere else in the country. Any of you have better luck with finding a snake gun on any given day?

All I know is I wanted a Night Cobra a few months ago.
When the panic hit and everyone started buying guns, I decided anyone who genuinely needs a gun to protect themselves with needs the Night Cobra more than I do.

You're a much better man than I am. As long as they still have a choice between a Hi Point and a Wilson Combat when I leave, I'm generally happy.

Colt will be releasing a new design Anaconda soon. It's in the design phase. You heard it here first.

I cant believe theres an older Colt Combat Commander 9mm thats STILL in the LGS display case and has been there for two weeks tempting/ torturing me........its nearly the only handgun in there! No snake guns, for sure.

Theyre asking $800, quite reasonable these days, IMO.

I keep telling myself "Just be strong for one more day, itll be gone and you wont have to think about it ever again."

But nope, still there..........:confused::D

If true, that’s the one I’ve been waiting for. Curious if it will be cheaper, same price, or more expensive than the Python. Regardless, I will get one.

A couple months ago the 'my first revolver' bug bit me, I saw a new Colt Cobra in matt SS and $580 later it was mine. Gunbroker was my friend. Superb fit and finish except for the cylinder release grooves were a bit rough so a little wet dry paper and it was fine. I have an S&W .380 PC EZ and I thought that trigger was great. The Colt puts it to shame. The fiber optic front sight really pops at the range in sunlight.
Now I look at revolvers in a different way.

Or if the QC is better than it used to be. Anaconda was the only revolver I've had that was out of sync right out of the box and consequently the one I learned timing a revolver on. My son is looking for a hunting revolver and I'll probably have to tip him off on this, except that he's a lefty and prefers S&W cylinder push release to Colt's pull-type. Easy to work with the thumb of your right hand, less so with the index finger of your left.

Kids these days...

Ordinarily I would be telling you to be strong and resist the lure of the Colt Combat Commander but... Hey were not getting any younger here and even more so because it's an older Colt, it's a Combat Commander, it's in 9mm., and it's reasonably priced!

I say go for it and be happy!
