Since the Six has been out of production for a while, it's sometimes hard to find the grips you really want. I picked up a pair of Mustang brand grips from Ebay, but they were just too big and bulky to be comfortable, especially with that covered backstrap and huge palm swell:

I took the power sander to them and ended up with these:

Much more comfortable with the rounded butt and exposed backstrap. Now I just have to put a nice a stain on it to finish it up. Thanks for letting me brag a bit and thanks for looking.

Nice adaptation of the Mustang grips to your Security Six! Please post some photos after you get them stained.

You're hired. Where do I send it?

Looks good, and probably feels better!

I agree that a finish should probably be applied over the stain.

Do you have any idea which wood that is?

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I really like the Ahrends tactical line but they don't make one for the Six series, so I was going for something with that kind of profile: rounded butt, exposed backstrap, and filled space behind trigger guard.

If you need work done on a grip, I'm happy to discuss over PM!

Will do

Yep, thinking of a boiled linseed finish over a dark stain. Not sure about wood type but it looks like some unstained rough walnut I've seen in the past.

Have fun shooting you're nicely gripped Ruger! We're expecting tighter groups from you now. ;)
