I'm intrigued by the Ruger American Rifles - been thinking of trading one of my rifles. I just wish that they came with iron sights. I use a scope, but I prefer to have the backup option. Not many bolt rifles still have them, save for a some CZ5xx models, Ruger guide rifle, or Savage Hog hunter

OP, I just got a Black Friday flyer from CDNN advertising a 7mm-08 Ruger American package deal with an, excellent for the money, Redfield Revolution scope for $399. That seems like it would check all of your boxes, and you wouldn't even have to put up with a crappy package deal scope, I have a Revolution on my M70, and have been quite pleased with it.

Man, that does sound tempting! I'm fond the Revolution myself, having one on my AR15 (2x7). If I can get ahold of my FFL to fax the auth. forms, I may order that! CAnt beat that deal for the $$, but, as with all things "Black Firday" I'm not goingg to hold my breath til its in my hands!
