Glock 19 Gen3 - Comes with 2 15RD Mags - USA Made w/ Nickel Boron Finish Battle Worn - Distributor Exclusive!

The NIB BATTLEWORN is a dark shade of gray with an aesthetically distressed, modern “battle” finish. NIB BATTLEWORN creates a smooth and uniform plating barrier without adding significant dimension to the metal part, increases the surface hardness of the plated part, and produces a products that is superior to competing plating systems.

Ok this has gone far enough, these are guns, not fashion accessories. This was taken from an AD on slickguns, I thought it was for a used, or Police, turn in. But no, it's a new gun with a distressed finish. "499.00"
Hell I would tie one to my bumper and someone who wanted a "distressed look" could have it in a few minutes for $450.00. for a few bucks extra I would even rip off the sights, and leave it in the rain with no protection on it to give it that rustic look.
Maybe even stripple the sides with some birdshot.

heh...this sounds like something my wife would see on HGTV...distressed lumber and artificially aged furniture...

Not that new.

Personally I understand why people want them but I absolutely detest "relicked" finishes. They are popular on guitars now too which I think is really sad.

But then again I don't like the GSG dress-up guns (where they take a normal semi-auto .22 action and put a die-casts zinc shell on it to make it look like an MP5 or something) either, for the same reason.

If you want patina (or mojo, or whatever you want to call it) go out and use your gear.

Haha battle-worn Glock is kind of an oxymoron. I've bought used Glocks that were carried and carried them myself and they look near new. I cannot imagine the true usage that would be require to patina a Glock.

That said the faux battle wear only looks good on 1911s and a some revolvers.

But nothing beats the look of a 1911 or revolver that has lead a useful life which shows on it's finish. You just cannot fake character.

Cant figure out why you would want to pay more for something you can do for free. Use the gun in training and at the range and make it worn all by yourself!

I think it's dumb.

Go out there and SHOOT your gun and USE it.

I think in a few years you'll get your own, custom made, 100% authentic "distressed" finish just by not sitting on the couch!! :D

I've been saying that about pre-ripped jeans for years. Just go lay a few miles of barbwire fence and you'll be all set!

I'm not surprised to see there is a cerakote option for this, as it is the kind of dumb thing plenty of people will do.

Then again, I've had my Glock 19 in and out of kydex holsters for a few years, and it was a duty/off duty carry gun for a LEO for years before... still JUST starting to show a LITTLE wear.

I've heard of people who buy cabinets that have been beaten with chains for big money, so no, I'm not surprised.

Dang posers can't even wear the finish on their guns, these days...

Much like women, men are using guns/gear as a fashion accessory. "Oh, I need to Cerakote my rifle to match my hat and have my dull, cool looking knife coated to match my plate carrier". Half of the outdoor industry is now based on looking cool. When I see a boisterous young bloke with a $2500 rifle, $500 vest setup, $300 half dull tactical knife, I dont automatically think he's cool. I automatically think he's bought himself into the "bro club". That quiet old man in a plaid shirt, driving tacks with his duct taped 60 year old rifle, cleaning his fingernails with his ancient, laser sharp Barlow... He's the cool one.

I second stompah and capybara's comments. Ugly, and how the heck do you abuse a tennifer finish to that extent? It would take centuries.

If you want a well-worn looking gun, just break in your blued Les Baer with 500 rounds! :p

Like anything else of value, you want a gun to look "battle worn", then by all means let it earn it's stripes and take it into battle. Anything less is just so much posing and a weak attempt at some sort of fashion statement through faking honest wear and tear.

I say that if someone gets what he (or she) wants, than good for him (or her).

Unless you are the one somehow 'forced' to buy a firearm (or pants) you do not want, who cares?

Well, I'm not surprised. Long time ago when I was a 3ed Dan black belt I heard this guy who made 1st Dan tied his new black belt to the back of his car and drove around the block to 'age' it.

For some, appearance is everything and earning it is just to hard.

That Cerekoted Glock doesn’t even look “battle worn” to me.
It looks like somebody dropped into a bucket of paint and couldn’t get it all off.
Why would anyone think that wear on a polymer frame would be white?

AK builders are the masters of the battlefield pickup look. Those look the part even if artificially applied to a new build.

if "battleworn" was the look someone was going for on that glock in the pic above, he missed it by a mile.

Buy milsurp if you want that. Or use your gear and get it to look that way by yourself if you want.

Meh. Who cares what people do to their stuff?

I might be wrong but this may very well have came from a video game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - one of the world's most popular competitive team-based FPS titles.

Varied "skins" (basically alternative paint schemes) can be obtained for each gun in the game, and every skin is available in a few different "wear" subsets: Factory new, Lightly worn, Field tested, and Battle scarred.
