I have New England Firearms single shot 12 gauge that I got about 15 years ago. I've been thinking on sending it in to get a .223 barrel for it. Does anyone know how much it would cost? They still do that, right?

I may be wrong but I think the shotgun and rifle frames are two different frames and NEF will not put a rifle barrel on a shotgun frame. Check their website on the accessory barrels part.

They can put a shotgun barrel on rifle frames but not the other way around. Reason is because of the higher pressure of a rifle cartridge and their recivers are built to tolerate it, shotgun frames are not.

It`s the hinge pin that is different.

Not only the hinge pin; but the firing pin is smaller in diameter than the shotgun reciever , and the heat-treating of the reciever is different.

three months ago the site indicated that you could put a .357 mag barrel on it, I know that doesn't help the OP, but others may find it useful.
