Hello all,

After debating it for a year, I finally bought an Eotech and a BUIS for my Bushy AR15. I'v been able to find suprizingly little information, here, on their website, and in general. Anyway, I have a few questions.

1. What's the best way to reconcile my irons with the Eotech?
- Zero the irons the old fashioned way then line up the Eotech with the line of sight?
- Do the Eotech first?
- Do them completely independently?

2. I keep reading about "keeping both eyes open" with the Eotech. I'm cross eye dominant, won't that cause my POI to be off? Or is the holosight always on target (once zeroed), no matter what angle I view it from?

Thanks!

Eotech first, then you have a pretty good idea where the BUIS should be.

As far as being CED, I'm not sure about that...I don't see it being a problem.

I think as long as you keep both eyes open, you'll be ok.

1. Mount the EOtech.
2. Zero your BUIS at 50yds.
3. Dial the EOtech until the dot is sitting on the top of the front site post
4. Refine the EOtech zero at 50 as desired.

Not sure about cross-eye dominance and red dots; but I don't think it would be an issu.

Thanks all,

One more question:

The BUIS that I bought (Midwest Industries) only has a windage adjustment. It's been many moons since I was in basic training. Without the rear elevation adjustment, how does that affect firing at targets which are greater distance away then what I zero to?

Thanks again,

If you zero at 50yds, you will be within 2" of your point of aim out to around 200-235yds (depending on barrel length). Beyond that you either have to adjust your front sight post or just hold high on the target to shoot at longer ranges.

Realistically (for me anyway), since the drop at 300 is only about eight inches, I just hold on the top of the target and have no trouble hitting. I can't really see a target smaller than eight inches at 300yds with irons anyway

Should be fine with the eye dominance. Looking through the EO Tech pick a target and move your head around. Notice how the dot will stay on target while you weave your head around. If someone sees you doing this, act like you are listening to an ipod :D

I dont think CED will be a problem. Im CED and my dominant eye takes over when both eyes open. I shoot pistols mainly right handed and being left eye dominant doesnt affect me with both eyes open.
