New Extractor needed for Springfield Mil-Spec

Well on Monday I recieved a Wilson Bulletproof and a Cylinder and Slide spring steel extractor, as well as the weigand tensioning jig.

I read all of the instructions with the Wilson and last night I tensioned installed and tested it per the instructions. It almost dropped in, it needed to be tensioned, and the Weigand jig did an excellent job of allowing me to precisely set the tension.

So today at lunch I went to the club with 150 rounds of .45 acp.

75 rounds of my handloads with a 200 LSWC and 4.3 gr of N-310.
25 rounds speer lawman 230 gr jacketed.
25 rounds federal hydrashok 230 gr
25 rounds federal hydrashok 185gr +p.

I also took 5 magazines with me.

I was able to fire all 150 rounds with no problems whatsoever, perfect feeding, firing, extraction, and ejection.

I can highly recommend the Wilson extractor, and the Weigand tensioning jig.:)

I did the Wilson as well. The OEM Springer was, get this: WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too tight. It wouldn't turn loose of spent casings, and when I did the test on it, I had to smack the slide on the bench to get a fresh round to come out of there. The Wilson required a teensy bit of tensioning, as it felt just a tad too loose out of the package, but it's doing just fine now. Bigger hook on the Wilson, and it's actually springy.

I've had a Springfield SS loaded for about two years now. It has the original extractor. Right off (when new) it wasn't hanging on to the case well on the last round so after some tensioning it worked fine and no problems since. I do have a Wilson Bulletproof in the parts box ready to go in when needed.
