Okay here it is. I have several S&W M28's and while they are in excellent mechanical shape the finish on all of them are a little worn out. I like these guns, but I also shoot them and want them to last. So I've opted for a new finish called PolyKote. Basically the gun is taken apart, sandblasted, parkarized and then a liquid polymer is applied. The gun is then baked in an oven for approximately three hours at $300.00. Everything I've read and been told this finish is the second most durable finish after stainless steel. I picked this up yesterday. I've given the shop my four inch M28 now. The real nice thing is after the coat is baked on the parts have to have a little handfitting done because the polymer makes everything a little thicker. It's like having a new gun. It set me back $140.00. I think that's pretty reasonable.

Looks good.

I did a really beat up S&W British Service Revolver like that but I used flat black Gunkote. It is a good finish for a range gun and cleans up super easy.
