Well, I finally am taking the plunge into the world of 10mm with a Glock G20 (third gen, right? finger grooves sort of built-in). What is "good" factory 10mm ammo (is there a Winchester Value Pack :D) and what should I absolutely stay away from?

Reloading: I have the dies and a stash of FMJ bullets (no brass yet), so decent reusable brass is also an important part of the equation.

Eventually, of course, I plan on 40S&W and .357SIG barrels, a .45ACP slide/barrel, and quite possibly a CCU or three...eventually.

It will be used for hunting the elusive North American Paper Bullseye (IL version).

Check out Georgia Arms.

Texas Ammunition has some pretty hot 10mm.

You might want to talk to the folks at GlockTalk about the Texas stuff with the G20.

I can personally attest to the Georgia Arms Ammo...it's good stuff.

I've been doing my best to fend off the 10mm Glocks that have been calling me  Congrats on your new addition!

Good factory 10mm ammo (defined as "stuff I like"):

Cor-Bon
Georgia Arms
ProLoad
Texas Ammunition
Winchester Silvertips

Congrats on your G20.

As was mentioned, be sure to check out the 10Ring on GlockTalk for helpful info and experiences posted by 10mm fans regarding a wide variety of 10mm-related issues (guns and ammo). :)

I've had good accuracy results with Corbon 135gr and 165gr. I also like Winchester Silvertips 175gr. They're accurate and reliable. I'm using a newly acquired G20, as well. Congrats on your purchase.

Well, I picked it up. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it'll be ~ 2 weeks until I can break it in.

In the meantime, I'm hearing the siren call of accessories. Like a combo laser/flashlight, a scope, the buttplug, night sights, skateboard tape grips, etc. Fortunately, I'm relatively broke now :D
HELP! This is gonna be the longest 2 weeks of my life...

Congrats. Ya, IIRC, Proload has some really hot rounds, and if you want to shoot large critters, Corbon has a 180 gr softnose penetrator. .....buttplug..... Tee hee. :)

That's th problem w/ the waiting period. You spend to much time buying accessories you may never use & no time shooting the new gun! At least she's home & you're that much closer to shooting her ;)

Welcome to the club. I bought a 40 S&W bbl for my G20. Yeah, I've yet to try it out.

Paid $659 out the door at GAT Guns, it was the last one they had in stock. No GLOCK 29 either.

Yes, it would have been ~$26 cheaper with cash or check.
Yes, you could order one from TopGlock for $509 + add-on fees.
No, nobody does transfers within a reasonable distance for $25, more like MINIMUM 10% or MINIMUM $50, whichever is more. Also local FFLs charge different rates for new vs. old and distributor vs. auction (as in, they can order it but wouldn't you rather have something gathering dust in the case instead?):scrutiny:

Richie Daley and the Illinois Democrats and Republican RINOs are, shall I say, consumer-unfriendly. The few FFLs left in Northern IL can charge whatever they want, not a lot of competition.

Heh, the ONLY Makarov I've ever seen was $199 for a Bulgie and it looked rather subpar (+ $50 Crook County fee + $5 IL fee + taxes). Russian TT-33 Tokarev, absolutely no bluing left, no mag, $199 (+ fees/tax). Somebody actually bought the TT-33!:uhoh:

You`ll love the 10,they`re great fun! There`s LOTs of great full power 10mm ammo out there. I generally use 180gr. Proload or 175gr. Silvertips for carry ammo. 200gr. Blazer ammo is cheap for practice and still has enough umph that you know you`re shooting a 10mm. For real fun try Corbon`s 180gr. JSP Penetrators! :D Marcus

I just picked up a G20 FNS for $575+ tax ($622)

I saw Blazer ammo selling for $12 per 50 rounds at would you believe The Sports Authority. I couldn't tell what type of load it was though.

CCI 10mm Blazer

KevlarTester,

The CCI 10mm Blazer is loaded with a 200gr. FMJ at 1050 fps. Not bad ammo and good to use for lsot brass matches when you might not want to lose the good stuff.

I recently orderd a half case from Natchez for the GSSF match in Topton, PA. The G20 and Blazer ammo performed flawlessly(if only I would have)!

I've also used the Georgia Arms 180gr. reloads and found them to be very good(and the price is right). Remington's UMC isn't bad either(for what it is) and you get to reuse the nice nickled brass for your reloads later!
