Well I got to shot my new G36 at the range today. So I figured I would share. First off I really like the feel of the gun. The grip is a little bit longer than my G23, but it is also slightly thinner. I think that over all it feels better in the hand than my 23. I really think it is the perfect size for CCW. I am glad I did not get the G30 which is simply to fat around.
At the range I shot about 150 rnds throught the Glock. I shot 50 rnds of 230 grn American Eagle FMJ and 100 rnds of 230grn WWB. there were no malfunctions whatsoever. Also, I had no problems with the Mag bitting my little finger. I had read that the 36 was notorious for this but I never had a problem with it. I took my Kimber Tac Pro II with me for a comparison. I found that my Kimber is far more accurate then the Glock. I had a single hole about 1.5" across out of my Kimber. With the Glock I was shooting about 2.5" groups all of this was at 10 yrds. Suprisingly I felt that the Kimber had more recoil than the 36. I do relise that recoil is subjective, but it was still a suprise. Neither gun has to much recoil to be able to shoot all day long if needed.
I am very happy with the Glock. I had considerd a Officers sized 1911, but feel that the reliabilty of the Glock was a better choice. I nuch prefer the 36 over the 27 I sold to finance it.
As for the Kinfe, Cold Steel here in Ventura was having a overstock sale and I picked up Magnum Tanto II for $165 dollars over the weekend. I have always wanted one of these for my collection. Hope you enjoy the pic. Thanks Juan
