Well I got to shot my new G36 at the range today. So I figured I would share. First off I really like the feel of the gun. The grip is a little bit longer than my G23, but it is also slightly thinner. I think that over all it feels better in the hand than my 23. I really think it is the perfect size for CCW. I am glad I did not get the G30 which is simply to fat around.

At the range I shot about 150 rnds throught the Glock. I shot 50 rnds of 230 grn American Eagle FMJ and 100 rnds of 230grn WWB. there were no malfunctions whatsoever. Also, I had no problems with the Mag bitting my little finger. I had read that the 36 was notorious for this but I never had a problem with it. I took my Kimber Tac Pro II with me for a comparison. I found that my Kimber is far more accurate then the Glock. I had a single hole about 1.5" across out of my Kimber. With the Glock I was shooting about 2.5" groups all of this was at 10 yrds. Suprisingly I felt that the Kimber had more recoil than the 36. I do relise that recoil is subjective, but it was still a suprise. Neither gun has to much recoil to be able to shoot all day long if needed.

I am very happy with the Glock. I had considerd a Officers sized 1911, but feel that the reliabilty of the Glock was a better choice. I nuch prefer the 36 over the 27 I sold to finance it.

As for the Kinfe, Cold Steel here in Ventura was having a overstock sale and I picked up Magnum Tanto II for $165 dollars over the weekend. I have always wanted one of these for my collection. Hope you enjoy the pic. Thanks Juan

Funny... I never realized the G36 grip was longer than the G23 grip... I do know that the G23 has never pinched me at all while the G36 has. Some folks swear by those G30s though. Two people that I respect ALWAYS carry the G30 but their hands are larger than mine. If pressed to choose between them, I might still take the G36 but I'd rather have a G30 or G36 than a G26 or 27 for daily carry.

Glad you like your new toys.

I handled a G36 a few weeks ago. Was amazed at how slim the gun actually is.
Pointed much better than my old G30.

Always liking .45 acp, but the .45 Glocks always felt too wide for me.
The G36 is much more to my liking if I can't have a RAMI in .45 GAP
just yet..
