Just bought and picked up (in the same trip and in 15 minutes, I love Idaho) a Glock 29. My first Glock and my first 10mm. Merry Christmas to me! :)

Good decision. I love the 10mm, but if I were to do it again I would get the Glock 20 though.

A good gun for Idaho, my friend.

Powerful enough for defense against most critters.

Even though I love CZs, Glocks do have their place and
CZ doesn't make a 10mm.

I'd like to handle a G29SF someday.

Good decision. I love the 10mm, but if I were to do it again I would get the Glock 20 though.

I got the 29 because it still takes full size 20 mags, but was 6 oz lighter. It is mainly for a woods gun, and when I'm in the woods, I backpacking, so weight matters. (And my hands are small and the 29 fit it better than the 20. All my fingers are on the grip with the pierce floor plate, which came on both mags).

Even though I love CZs, Glocks do have their place and CZ doesn't make a 10mm.

That was my dilemma. I am no Glock fan boy, I have an eaa witness that I love (CZ-clone) but the glock seems to be the perfect 10mm package, and I just could not see my self lugging around a 33 oz (empty) pistol in addition to my other gear. If someone else makes a 10mm that is as reliable and light as a 29, point me in that direction. Until then a glock it is.

I had a 29 and regret getting rid of it. I have been itching for either another 29 or a 20. Enjoy it. Try cheaperthandirt.com for ammo.

I was planning to use my glock 29 for CCW but decided not to because it's so thick (like other glocks). Now I wish I went with a glock 20 because of the aftermarket barrels. There are 6" barrels for Glock 20 but not for the G29 which translates to an extra 100fps difference. There is even a 50 GI drop in barrel for the G20 if you want to go that route.

I carried a 10mm witness every Hunting season for about 8 years.

My bad back is result of the Witness and big 97B.

Do you live in Grizzly Country by chance?

I really like mine. It is big for a compact but I regularly carry it (concealed) with a Comp-tac minotaur holster. Good holsters, which seem to be hard to find, are a must.

good choice, The 20 was my first handgun and I regretfully sold it before I reloaded:fire: The 29 seems to me to be the perfect size for a carry gun and when it's loaded properly it is a worthy ctg. "IE double tap, BB, handloads"

Do you live in Grizzly Country by chance?

I live in Idaho, so yes, they are around in some places. Also have wolves and other bears in the back country, and I'm there a lot, with my kids (who are small bit sized bits).

Idaho, if you get tired of spending big $$$ on 10mm ammo, get yourself a .40s&w barrel for practice ammo. Lone Wolf gets 115$ for one. Its a decent deal and you can save money over time.

(Or you can just reload 10mm if you have the setup.)

Congrats on your G29! There must be something in the air this week, I picked up a like new G20 SF on Tuesday, hopefully for use on short range deer and hog. After one range trip, I decided I had waited way to long to hop on the Glock 10mm train, what a blast! (literally)

Nice buy IdahoSkies :D

I hope to have a G20 someday also, to replace my 357 on hunts and strolls into the wilderness. Enjoy!!
