I'm looking to put new grips on my 1858 pietta .44 I was looking at some hogue grips anyone know what will fit this gun? I want something like u find on a Smith and wesson black rubber with finger grooves
Ive been considering a pair each of faux jigged bone and checkered "ivory" grips and putting 1/2 of each different pair on either side of the grip with the jigged bone side under my finger tips for a better grip. Depending
on which side my two new Pietta NAs holstered it looks like I have two "different" pair of 1858 New Armys.
To the best of my knowledge, no one makes modern rubber grips that fit the 1858 Pietta Remington. However, one gentleman succesfully modified N-Frame S&W Wooden target grips to fit and they came out very nicely...
