I was looking through some of my pictures and noticed that tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my first trip to the range with a new gun. I posted a photo of this gun under the "show us your single actions" thread but thought I'd give it its own thread.

This is a single action revolver in .45 Colt manfactured by Standard Manufacturing Co., a division of Connecticut Shotguns which makes top quality shotguns, including Parker and Fox, that come with five figure price tags. They only recently decided to get into the SA revolver market and the quality of this gun is obviously equal to that of their shotguns. They're not cheap but you get what you pay for. Note: They give LEO discounts.

The fit, finish and trigger are what Colt only dreams about. They come standard with fire blued small parts and all screws are timed. I've had action jobs done on several Colt SAA's and Standard's out of the box trigger action is far better. (That's what caused the rwo flyers on the bullseye target, I wasn't yet used to a trigger that good. :)

My very first 20 rounds.

BTW, I'm 82 years old and my left hand is paralyzed. No semi-autos and all one handed shooting.

Wow with groups that good I wouldn't have guessed you were a day over 35. Lol.
Very good shooting sir. And beautiful revolver.
P.S. I can only pray to make it into my 80s much less still be able to shoot. Good for you. May you be blessed with many more good years.

Nice shooting, that would have been very respectable out of a pure target gun.

Beautiful revolver, wonder if they do their case hardening in house or send it out?

Thanks for sharing this. That is one gorgeous gun and shoots as good as it looks!! Also, thanks for mentioning your age. As I approach 70, your 82 years gives me something to look forward to.

New Britain CT is pretty close to Hartford. I wonder if they grabbed any of Colt's better craftsmen?

Yes they did along with some from the former US Fire Arms (USFA). They were important from the beginning in setting up their single action process.

Hint: Stay off of motorcycles, you'll live longer. A pickup truck (that didn't see me...as usual) launched me off my motorcycle at age 70...cost me 3 months in hosp w/ torn aorta, 10 broken bones including both femurs, nerve damaged hand, + 3 more months of rehab. Guns are safer :)

Here's a photo of Standard's nickel 45 posted by another customer.
