New gun but a question in mind

No.

The auto rim cartridge has an extremely thick rim designed to compensate for the thickness of the moon clip, and the "rim" thickness of the .45 ACP. The rim is too think to be used in anything other than a .45 ACP revolver, or something similar to it such as possibly the .455 Webley cartridge(but I don't think it will even work in those guns without modification).

You will have to try it and see. My guess is that the rim will likely be too thick to permit you to close the cylinder. But, most probably, you can use the .45 S&W (Schofield) round although the rim is a smidgen wider than the .45 Colt rim. If you reload, Starline is making a .45 Colt case sized down to the height of the .45 acp. It is essentially an auto rim case with out the thick rim. You can load this round using .45 acp dies with a .45 Colt shell plate.
