For those of you who are wondering about whether this gun is good or not this gun is better than any of the .380s ive shot so far. Coworker of mine bought one about 3 months ago and he kept going on about how accurate it was for a little pistol. so one sunday morning we both went out and did a little shooting. Im no real fan of the pocket pistols phenomenon thats going on but this one did perk my interest a bit. My first 6 rounds i shot a distance of 10 yards on a silhouette target and put all rounds into the mid center of the head. i decided to put it out to 25 yds and i aimed for the chest and put all 6 rounds int he area the size of my fist. I was shooting fiocchi 380 fmjs dont know what grain and all i thought was damn this is a quality gun. Ive shot the keltecs, lcp, new taurus 380, and event the sig p238 and this gun was by far better than the rest. my second favourite would be the sig but the price versus performance is nowhere near this gun.

A bit of a rant!!!
I'm more of a fan of the platform for my .380 Browning BDA than the .380 round. Pretty fugly gun IMO. What gets me perhaps most is the name. By god a Diamondback is a beautiful Colt revolver, not a plastic fantastic. It's almost like naming a company Stingray Autos and producing electric cars. Will they be producing a Python model soon?Sacrilege I say!!!

My Diamondback and I just got home from the range.

I started with Herters 380 and had a couple of feeding jams.

Next I tried PMC and the pistol ran 100%.

Then fired a magazine of Buffalo Bore and no problems but boy that stuff kicks!

Next up was Federal fmj and again no problems.

Next I filled a P3AT 7 round mag with WW white box flat nose and fired it through the Diamondback and it was flawless.

And last was Remington jhp which ran 100%

I decided to try one more magazine of Herters and had no failures.

My conclusion is the pistol is loosening up and now running fine.

Oh and the accuracy is outstanding!

According to gunblast, the DB has a 4.5# trigger pull. That was the kicker for me, compared to the LCP's 49million# pull. Only one malfunction, and it was the cartridge not the gun.

I have an LCP,but I don't carry it because I'm completely inaccurate because of the trigger pull. I have arthritis in my trigger finger, so it's a no-go.

Anyone fire a DB & an LCP back to back?
My son has an LCP and I have shot it and I have a Diamondback, but haven't shot them back to back.

I personally like the P-3AT better than the LCP, but that's just me.

I have shot my P-3AT and the Diamondback in the same session and as far as I'm concerned the Diamondback is the winner hands down.

This gun is amazing guys! Little known company but amazing weapon. Over 6 years went into the design and is the only .380 allowed in the tallahassee police force as a secondary weapon. Can be shot under water, dropped in the sand shaken off and shot cleanly. I love my gun, and the durability. The accuracy is unheard of, really cant get much better then this lil guy!

Apparently they NEED that lifetime warranty because more often than not the things just don't work.

There's a Diamondback forum that's been set up, and the posts read like a list of customer service complaints.

If it comes from Cocoa Beach, keep it out of arms reach.

I disagree. I've had a few failure to extracts with mine during the first 100 rounds. As I approached the 100 round mark the pistol seems to function fine. I shot mine yesterday along with a few other .380s I own.

The Diamondback shoots tighter than all my other .380s, except my Sig P232.

I purchased an LCP a few weeks ago and re-homed it three days later. I don't like DOA triggers, and I just couldn't live with the LCP's trigger. That being said I don't really care for the trigger on the Diamondback either. But it's light enough that I've been able to get used to it.

looks like they are in danger of being sued by glock from the look of the entire gun....
iono maybe the patent expired. Didn't smith get sued by glock?

Be careful of this gun, I had one and it had to go back to the factory twice because of a broken trigger bar, never made it past 250 rounds either time. :banghead: When I got it back from the factory the second time I never even took it out of the case but instead loaded it up and went as fast as I could to my nearest gun store and swapped it off for another 1911.:D I took a loss on it but didn't care, would have never trusted it again after it broke twice.

Smith got sued like 15 years ago, when the patent was still good. Smith knew this and simply decided to rip Glock off...

patents only last 20 years... which is why there are tons of 1911 and SAA copies out there.

haven't any of you "glock will sue" people noticed all the glock-like triggers and take-down levers on other guns lately?

On that lifetime warranty one should of mentioned it is only valid with the "Original" owner AND you best have a recipt AND a copy of the trannsfer form for proof!

I bought one at Buds for $309.00 free shipping. Excellent little gun. Have yet to have a rain free or non freezing day to take her out and shoot her.

Thanks for the laugh on the Diamondback zone....It goes to nowhere.... Funny guys!

In regards to the Diamondback forum. This should also be put into perspective. Theres over 35,000 guns out now and not a whole lot of bad guns in the hands of owners. For a Brand New company I think their doin great and folks should give em a little bit of time to get the bugs worked out. Hell, most of the guys with problems got call tags to send back on the companies dime. THATS SERVICE right there...

I'm also impressed with the fit and function. The sights are awesome for a .380. The others are basicaly a point and pull only gun. I wanna be able to somewhat accusition my target and assure no one eles in the vacinity gets hit by a stray bullet!!!!

Anyways, I'll try n post my opinions when I actualy get to run her a bit....

Respectfully, DC....

January 2011 Gun Tests gave it a D. Said too many malfuntions. Doublefeed once , trigger did not reset once and several failures to ignite.

War, you're too kind. It's at least a 60 million lb pull.

Haven't read every word of this thread, but I remember the guys on the Kel-Tec forum a while back talking about the founders of DB being prodigal sons from Kel-Tec. I think the DB factory is only a couple of blocks from the KT factory. KT also makes parts for our space program. All of 'em probably big-time engineer types...
