Young Zane owns 20 1800s style guns which he uses in competition. "I shoot Colts," Zane explained, adding that his most prized possession is a Sharp's 45-70. He saved up money from earning straight "A's " in school to buy his 1st Colt 45 Peacemaker. He already has two-1st place wins in the 'Men's' Level #1, which moved him to the Men's Level #2. On Jan 17th, 2009, he won the 1st place in his class in Brenham, Texas, competing against men who have been competing for several years.

His competes with 2 Colt 45's loaded with 5 rounds each. Charging down the stretch firing 5
rounds from his Colt at ballons, then holstering it and drawing a 45 from the other side, or a
Winchester 45 caliber lever action rifle from its scabbard and continuing his volly of fire with
both hands on the rifle, and the reins dropped on the horses neck as his trusty steed races
headlong at the targets.

He rides an 1861 McClellen Saddle, dressed in a Union Army Officer's Frock Coat with the rank of Colonel, in the Calvary class. His western screen greats are Festus, Marshall Matt Dillon, and John Wayne for starters.

p.s. forgot to mention, Zane is only 11 years old.......

Now it says 1800s "style" guns? I wonder how many are original. In his quote, even though he doesn't state they are, he kind of infers that they are. If not that is a nice collection, especially for an 11 yo. If so, that is a very impressive collection for anybody, much less an 11 yo.

Though I have very little to complain about my childhood (with or without guns), my dad matched me dollar for dollar on any gun that I wanted. That is awesome that his parents give him the money for grades. Now-a-days, rather few parents show that much interest in their kids school AND hobbies.

Yes; the above article itself specifically states .45 cal. Colt Peacemakers. He's also a History Buff, so anything less than an original Colt most likely wouldn't suit him.

He began riding at the age of 5 years old, followed by showing Arabian horses. The paper continued that " Fort Smith, Arkansas Mayor Ray Baker presented him with a plaque of achievement during a recent school assembly".

p.s. His Grandparents awarded him for his achievements in school..
