Hello, everybody. Finally decided to check this place out. I have heard people on SigForum, 1911Forum, and the FALFiles mention it. Don't know if this was the correct place to post this or not.

Hey squid and welcome. I joined the “circus†on the same day JFK was shot did my 20 and quit. :D Ended up here in NC, like it just fine.
 
Welcome to a interesting place. I don't know about Murphy to Manteo but I do know it is a long ride from Andrews (10 miles east of Murphy) to Winston-Salem when you leave at 6:30, especially when you have to go to work the next morning.
 
My gggg grandpappy was from NC- Loyalist, he was. Fought for the British and got kicked out of the country after the Rev War. King George III gave him land in Nova Scotia for his "good and faithful service to the Crown". It took us 150 years to get back. I'm 1st generation American on that side of the family. Welcome. :)
