Just wanted to say hello to everyone before asking my question...Hello!:)
I once posted on here a while back. I finally have some time to myself now and want to pursue shooting (i'm basically a beginner). My question--- Anyone here from the Triad region in NC, cause I'm looking for a safe and well managed range. I know of only one in the region. If anyone has been there, feel free to let me know what you thought of it or if you know of any other options. Just send me a PM if you don't want to post on the general board. Thank you.

im over in greensboro, but looking to move to davidson county... what area are you in? i know most of em

I live in Greensboro. The only indoor range I know of is Calibers by the airport. Not a bad place, but it's pistol only. If you want to shoot rifles, there are some places, but you'll have to drive a while to get there.

i cant help you with a traditional range but i have a couple thousand acres of deer leases that you can come set up a target and shoot on for free. as long as it doesnt conflict with up coming turkey season.

BenEzra what town do you live in? sounds like you're close to me Pender/Sampson CO area.

Theres a good range north of Winston Salem in Rural Hall. It's called the Triad Gun Source. You can shoot pistols, rifles and shotgun there. Real nice people and fairly reasonable prices. LEO, Fire and EMS personnel get a discount on membership too.

there are 4 places within reasonable range... DPRC, PHA, Uhwaree and the 4th isnt open at this time, but looks to be soon hopefully... as for indoor, all i know of is calibers, the sportsmans lodge (winston salem), and the one in burlington

I shoot at DPRC and love it. We are capping membership at 750, currently around 620 or so, so I would encourage you to come to our monthly saturday range orientation just to check out the facilities. It's free, so you get a chance to check out one of the nicer private ranges in the state for no cash outlay (other than gas). If you decide it's too far/not for you, no harm done, but at least you'll get a chance to join before the cap takes effect.
