A new indoor range has opened up in Lafayette, Indiana. Flat Creek Range at 3217 Olympia Drive (Southside, located in a commercial/warehouse area) offers archery lanes (with DVD simulators), and 15 lanes rated for pistol, shotgun, rifle and machine gun featuring State of the Art ventilation and filtration systems.

Flat Creek offers on-site gunsmithing, sales of firearms and accessories, and rental of a wide variety of firearms, including submachine and machine guns. In addition the range offers a classroom with NRA and hunter education classes to be offered, including classes by gun writer Frank James.

When I went there to wring out a recently repaired 1911 (gear hates me), the owner greeted me at the door and was very friendly. He did want to "inspect" my weapon (O.K., his range, his rules) and I had to use his ammo. I think a box of .45acp was $9. The range was full of younger guys and the owner was very friendly with them. It was good to see.

The facility was very clean and in typical Hoosier fashion there were lots of dead critters on the wall.

For more, check out their website thingy which is still under construction (turn your sound on:D):www.flatcreekrange.com

My brother was telling me about the place, but he couldn't come up with Flat in the name only Something Creek Range. Nice to hear from someone who has been there. One question what type of Sub guns do they rent?

went there thursday for the first time.

nice facility and owner.

machine gun rental won't be available for a week or 2.
says he will have,M16,thompson,among others.

you can bring your own ammo, as long as it is TMJ.
his ammo prices are very reasonable for TMJ.

2 types; Precision brand reloads and S&B new.

like el tejon said, the 45 reloads were $9. the S&B new is $11.50.

you can bring your own 22 ammo, as long as it is copper coated.

owner says they will be starting an indoor GSSF league.

How much are the range fees?? Their website made my about jump outta my seat with that stupid sound effect.

Thrash, the brochure they gave me sez $9.00 per half hour with each additional minute $.30. $7.00 to rent a gun.

You can buy a year membership for $189.00 (single), $249.00 (family), or $129.00 (senior citizen), or $99.00 (occasional sportsman, however that is defined).
