I have a chance to buy a brand new Kahr K9 for $545.00 out the door... Should I jump on it ??, It's a Two -tone model.......:banghead:

That is a descent price. You might want to consider the P-9, it is lighter for concealed carry.

K9 is a great gun, and that's a great price. If it were me I'd definitely get it. Stainless or blued?

After the way they treated me, (Additude) charged me for shipping, and my NIB gun going back to the factory THREE times and STILL never working right...

I'm never buying another Kahr

I know nothing about Kahr, but I'm looking at black friday 3-day sale......home defense kit SD9 or SD40 comes with micro light and nanovalut 4"barrel, front tritium night sight reg. $549.99 3 days only $419.99 (limited quantities). I think $525 is too much to pay for 9mm pistol with plastic frame. As long as it fits ones hand and goes bang when the trigger is pulled does it matter what name is on the gun?

I love Kahr's K series and think they are among the best carry guns ever made.

I actually have my K40 on my belt as I write this. here's the thing with the K series. they handle, balance, and shoot like a large pistol, but they conceal like a small pistol.
Recoil even with the .40cal, is not bad (the weight really soaks up a lot), and the gun just points and handles like a dream.

It doesn't feel at all, like the subcompact glocks, XDs, Etc... which look and feel like someone look a larger gun and just chopped off some of the barrel/slide, and the grip.

Oh, and I'll add that the precision craftsmanship of the K series is far and away, the best one can find for the price. the slide on mine just glides with no play, and no roughness anywhere. It's what you'd expect of a $1k 1911.

There was a special edition two tone K9: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=5462103
This is a quote from the linked thread:
edited today 3-30--09. That k9 dual tone was made in 95, kAHR HAS not mad ethat gun again. Somewhere that gun has been sitting around a very very long time. It is a really nice gun > kahr made less than 2000 back in 95. Your serial numbers I bet are either 401xxxx or ABxxxxx, if it is either of those two, it was made in 95 and not lately. It does have the elite trigger.

Greg

gb6491, Thanks for that link to the old thread.

I noticed something in the two-tone photo I didn't catch the first go-round. the production date on two-tones was established as '95 and the slide, which is carbon steel, is the old style slide, but the stainless frame is the new style. The two-tone model should have the old style frame and old style slide, should it not? Leads me to think it was at some time repaired with a new frame.

usp9,
I doubt it's a repair as Able Ammo used to have the same gun listed on their site:
http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=115831
Perhaps, the person, who posted the info I quoted was mistaken about the production date. In the same thread, the OP states: "...It's a special edition, according to Kahr. The rear sight dovetail is the 'old' design, so I suspect they had an overrun of the old slides and stuck them on the new stainless frame."
Regards,
Greg

FWIW, there was a two tone "Wilson Edition" K9 (circa 1999):
