I got her yesterday. She's a SA SG from the CMP, but of course, and looks just dandy.
I looked up the serial, 2145864, and it was made in November of 1943. It finally got to meet my greatgrandfathers Model 1905 WWI bayonet last night.
Stock looks nice, no cartouches(sp?) though. There was one thing that looked like this: () ...But they are more rounded like the letter C, anyone know what that mark is. I thought it be from a cartridge or something.
I took a bunch of pics of the numbers and stuff, I can't decipher much of it, maybe you guys can.
I also have 768 rounds of the Greek ammo waiting to be fired. The stock doesn't seem very oily so I dunno if a full cleansing is in order.
Well, enjoy...
edit:
3rdpic.the Throat Erosion, I believe was marked on the metal, is that a good measurement?
