P.S. - about Walther safety, also Firestorm and Bersa safety

I practice with an empty gun in the dark drawing and flipping safety off. I got quite good.

Then went to my cousins house to his private range and did this under half moon with loaded gun and then peppered the target all within a coffee can size group.

If you can get used to putting safety off in the dark at high speed, then you can do it under any conditions, I think.

"Plus no one I ever worked with carried a traditional DA auto with the safety on."

Amen.

Well, I don't see a need to carry a TDA auto with a safety on either. I do so by choice if its available. I still carry SA autos like the BHP, 1911 and C&L CZ-75 so its just natural for me to swipe a safety in the down position. If an addtional safety is available on a gun, even a DA/SA auto, I use it. Just because you worked with them doesn't mean its right for me or everyone else.
