Does anyone know if there are any newly manufactured Luger pistols out there? I love the pistol but the idea of paying $2,000 for something I would be afraid to shoot out of fear of breaking it does seem a little steep. Thanks

Sean

You should be able to get a used working Luger for as little at $500.

You can get a recently made Stoeger Luger in stainless for about $1000. Note, they stopped production in Dec 2004, I think.

I don't think so!!
The Luger name is owned by Stoeger and they have not made any for years!!
A few years back, a late friend of mine did procure a custom Luger from Gary Reeder in Flagstaff. As far as I know, it's was a one-of-a kind!!! The gun is now in the hands of his family.

You might ask here, though!!

Recent production or stainless Stoeger Lugers? Yes.

Take at look at these photos of stainless Stoeger Lugers from one of the galleries at the Luger Forum.

Here is a mid-2003 price list from Orimar Firearms Manufacturing, which was the company that made new Lugers for Mitchell, Stoeger, and AIMCO.

Here is a photo of the custom engraved Luger by Reeder that denfoote mentioned.

There is a guy making new 45 Lugers in Cali with the leftover parts from DWM, and some new parts. I believe the asking price is $20,000 each, or so....

denfoote, I am not sure what you are not thinkng. If there was something in error in my post, it would be nice if you actually said what it was.

According to the source YOU provided, Luger Forum in the History sections, Stoeger started producing Lugers in the 1980s and is currently they are still in production. You and I are in agreement that they are not currently in production at Stoeger, but I had found and a couple places I have seen post 2000 production mentioned. I did not know the reliability of my sources, so I posted the "I think" comment for the date.

Since you are so certain it was years ago that production stopped by Stoeger, then can you educate me with an actual online source for this information?

Maybe you were balking at the prices I suggested? If so, here is an example of a Stoeger Stainless for less than a grand...
Here is on for $900

As for the low end prices on functional lugers, they can be seen on the various gun auction boards.
