Well, yes, if you're talking about car wrecks. Until I was 11, I grew up in Denver, so even though I never drove in the snow until I was about 22 (when we got a big snow fall in SoNM) I remembered watching my dad's driving and just casually drove by all of the idiots with 4x4s stuck in the snow.The reason there are deaths in snowstorms in ABQ . . . is because people in these areas are not used to driving in hazzardous conditions
As for the freezing-related deaths out on I-40 between ABQ and Moriarty or ABQ and Gallup, it is usually out-of-state travellers who ignored the State Police warnings, because they come from somewhere where they get "real" snow, and figure "how bad can it be in the desert?". Most New Mexicans know better than to ignore the State Police during snow storms.
