I seem to be having a problem with the transfer bar in my New Model Blackhawk .41 Magnum.

If I try to cock the revolver with the muzzle down, the transfer bar tips forward and snags against the firing pin, preventing the gun from cocking. If I tip the muzzle up, the transfer bar comes back enough to clear the firing pin and everything works as it should.

Is there an easy fix for this?

hi JesseL,,, the base pin,,, the pin that holds the cylinder in has a spring loaded pin in the end of it that pushes on the transfer bar,,,i would check it to see if it is gummed up or maybe the spring is broken,,,,or maybe the base pin is not seated all the way in and locked in place,,, check this first......my .02 YMMV

Deffinately the base pin. Had this problem my self, I was trying to work the action with the cylinder and pin removed.
