New model CZ-97

This was posted on the CZ forum. Looks pretty interesting. It uses a 1911 style barrel bushing. Can someone explain why that is better or worse than the threaded one on the standard 97?

Firstly, we will never see any Frankonia JAGD guns imported
into this country by CZ-USA. So we in the states can only dream about that longslide Match 97B.

Secondly, in regard to your question.

The older bushing had a tendacy to turn around rapidly and
lock up the guns if not installed correctly. The newer Star
shaped flanged bushing eliminates this.

CZUB could have made the gun without the funky bushing, but
it would not be as accurate. More like a Big Bore 75B with 2-3
inch accuracy, and not the 1 1/4 inches that it exhibits.

I'm sure the longslide version is a pussycat to shoot and a
real tackdriver!!

My question was actually regarding the 1911 style bushing on the Frankonia guncompared to the bushing that is used on the standard 97. I know the bushings have been revised on the 97, but they are not 1911 style. It seems odd to use something completely different for the ones being made for Frankonia unless the 1911 bushing was superior in some way. If CZ can make them for the big German distributor, I don't see why they can't make them for CZ-USA. I think the gun would sell well here, and would be importable on points even withoug the firing pin block due to the adjustable sights. Just like the 85 Combat. (my other favorite gun).

The given advantages of the 1911 style bushing over the multi point unit on the current 97's would be its not thread'd and doestnt require tools. As far as any advantage in accuracy...a good bushing is a good bushing......

Neat. Looks like the 97 mated with an IPSC ST. I bet it is a shooter. Nothing I really would want to buy, but knowing CZ it is probably a hell of a pistol.
