I would say if your first plan is to surrender to armed burglars, that is getting pretty close to the definition of coward.

I think another subset of anti-gunners are people with their own anger management issues who don't trust themselves with weapon and seem to think others shouldn't be trusted also.

Good for her, I hope she recovers soon and fully.
But I find it interesting that the reporter felt that they needed to say "husband's legally-owned pistol"...
Why the qualifier ? :scrutiny:
Thats exactly the first thing I noticed. What if the gun was over the 10 round magazine limit?
Would she now be a criminal rather then a mom valiantly defending her family?

I didn't see anything about the perps being hit by return fire? Not saying anything bad about her shot placement under stress, being hit herself etc. but if the perps were hit that would expedite their capture.

No word to the perps' "wounds," but for those media commentators who complained that she should have just let them alone to do what they wanted w/o having to resort to violence...

Not to worry, with This Guy (who has a rap sheet a mile long) now in jail, he'll roll on the others.

This young lady is still in the Hospital. I hope she makes a full recovery.

I'm sure the time away from her new baby is almost as bad if not worse than dealing with the gunshot wounds.

Kudos to Mrs. Bunce and best wishes for her recovery.

The story hit CNN, finally, complete with pictures of the baby, the family, and the beautiful young mother in her hospital bed. If she's willing, the NRA should make her a poster child for home defense and preparation. A 30 second spot of this mother holding the baby and telling her story would be worth more in public relations than they could ever purchase with money.

AARONDHGRAHAM - "I related this story to a co-worker,,,
Whose reply was:

"If she would have just complied and let them rob her house she wouldn't have been shot."

Next time you speak with that foolish child, you might ask him/her if he/she has ever heard of Sharon Tate (eight months pregnant), Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, and Wojtek Frykowski?

They all begged and pleaded with their attackers, to absolutely no avail.

Begging for mercy from the merciless is a very poor survival strategy.

Wojtek Frykowski
I read Bugliosi's "Helter Skelter", and according to him, Frykowski fought for his life.

Needless to say, the Manson zombies had a gun (as I recall, they broke the grip beating him to death with it) and he didn't.

A man/woman confronts you with a instrument of deadly force
that cannot be outrun w/o danger to yourself or others...
Game over.

The other alternative could have been like this story, which sadly, didn't have any good outcome.
