new msh for my smith pc 1911

i just got my hands on a smith and wesson performance center 1911, the black melonite model, and i have two questions-first, are all the parts, at least the outer parts, melonite coated as well? i want to switch out the msh to an arched version, which brings me to my second question, if they are already all coated/treated or whatever the term for melonite is, is there anywhere i can get one that is pre-treated? thanks in advance!
